AGUA Breaks Records at
Senior Metropolitan Championships
Great work to our swimmers who raced at the 2020 Senior Metropolitan Championships. AGUA athletes broke barriers and kicked off the championship season with success.

Isabel Gormley was named the high point-scorer of the meet, edging her competitors out on the final night of competition. Along the way, Isabel earned her fifth and sixth United States Olympic Trials cuts in the 200 backstroke (2:14.50) and 200 freestyle (2:00.68). Both times made new Senior Metropolitan Championship meet records, and her backstroke was a new AGUA team mark. Isabel also earned gold in the 800 freestyle and bronze in the 200 butterfly and 200 IM.

Dylan Rhee led the men's team, earning third-overall in the high-point race. He set new Senior Metropolitan Championship meet records in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Dylan also earned a silver medal in the 400 IM, and played a major role in AGUA's Metropolitan Swimming and team record in the 400 medley relay. He teamed up with Eugenio Massari , Tristan Pragnell, and Adell Sabovic for the win.

Tristan earned individual silver in the 200 backstroke and bronze in the 100 distance, while Adell took home silver in the 100 butterfly. Further medalists include Jonathan Choi (400, 800, and 1,500 freestyle), Charlotte Krevitt (100 freestyle), and Sophia Zhang (100 and 200 breaststroke).

Sign Up to Be an AGUA Official
One of the most critical parts of running a high-quality swim meet is having a team of certified and experienced officials. AGUA is fortunate enough to have such a great team of officials made up of AGUA parents – past and present.

Please help us maintain the tradition of staffing our meets with AGUA officials by getting certified. This is a terrific way to contribute to the team while also learning more about swimming.

If you are interested in hearing more about the certification process, please click here or contact AGUA meet referees Rachel Skaistis or Sharon Greenberg. It is an incredibly rewarding position that makes meets fly by!
