Great Work at Metropolitan Swimming Junior Olympics
Congratulations to our athletes who raced at the Junior Olympics July 23-25! AGUA athletes raced to records, medals, and more over the three-day competition.

Denys Mialkovskyi led the way by earning the high point award for 13-14 boys. Denys scored more points than any other swimmer in his age group while setting two meet records in the 100-and 200-meter Backstroke. He also joined forces with Jake Henschel, Satya Agashiwala, and Zander Auth to set a new AGUA team record in the 13-14 boys 200 Medley Relay.

This was just the start of AGUA's relay dominance, as six teams raced to gold-medal finishes:

  • 13-14 girls 200 Medley Relay (Mia Slowik, Nia Zagar, Syd Berger, Azana Karim)
  • 13-14 girls 400 Medley Relay (Heidi Wu, Alegra Teixidor-Salerno, Isabella Castano, Azana Karim)
  • 13-14 girls 200 Freestyle Relay (Azana Karim, Syd Berger, Heidi Wu, Anisa Basler)
  • 13-14 girls 400 Freestyle Relay (Anisa Basler, Mia Slowik, Heidi Wu, Azana Karim)
  • 13-14 boys 200 Freestyle Relay (Denys Mialkovskyi, Zander Auth, Oliver Shao, Satya Agashiwala)
  • 9-10 girls 200 Medley Relay (Milly Birch, Greta Messinger-Nanni, Chloe Yang, Mayrah Johnson)

AGUA also earned 23 individual medals across all four age groups:

  • Satya Agashiwala - Gold: 50 Freestyle; Silver: 100 Butterfly, 100 Freestyle
  • Lexi Asch - Silver: 200 Butterfly
  • Milly Birch - Silver: 50 Butterfly
  • Isabella Castano - Bronze: 100 Butterfly
  • Vincent Gookin - Bronze: 400 Freestyle
  • Azana Karim - Gold: 50 and100 Freestyle; Bronze: 200 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke
  • Denys Mialkovskyi - Gold: 100 and 200 Backstroke, 200 Freestyle; Silver: 400 Freestyle; Bronze: 100 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly, 200 Individual Medley
  • Cokie Rice - Bronze: 200 Backstroke
  • Elonu Rodrigues - Silver: 400 Individual Medley
  • Mia Slowik - Bronze: 400 Individual Medley
  • Tommy Uybico - Silver: 50 Freestyle
  • Heidi Wu - Gold: 200 Backstroke; Bronze: 100 Backstroke

2021-2022 Schedules and Registration
Fall and winter practice schedules are now available for all groups. Please prepare for both swimming and dryland workouts.

2021-2022 registration closes on August 13. Please note, there will be a $300 late registration fee for missing this deadline. If you did not receive your registration link for the short course season, please click here and note the correct location for your swimmer's practice group.
