Rancho California Arabian Horse Association is asking our local and surrounding Regions 1,2,3 & 7 members if they would be interested in entering if we offered Hunter/Jumper classes at our Spring Show - March, 2019 at LAEC, Burbank. If there is enough interest, we would be willing to add them instead of the Region 1 Dressage Classes. There would still be Region 2 Sport Horse and Dressage qualifying plus the Region 2 Sport Horse Championship Classes. Please respond to RCAHA President, Debbie Moss at [email protected]. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Region 2

Region 2 will be holding its Delegates' meeting on November 3 in Bakersfield.  Those interested in coming need to call Joyce Schroeder.

On October 13,  we had a great Old Timers' BBQ at Lori and Ken West's Arabians in Clovis, N.M. It was great to see all we ole folk getting together of a visit and talk over old times. This is a group that attended the Mariposa Arabian Show every fall. We had about 18 people and the food was fabulous!

One of the things discussed was that the Crescent/Midstate Club is having elections next month. Ray Cerniga is hoping that some of the Arabian members show their good colors and attend to make the election exciting. Debbie Cervanka is doing a great job and she will easily be getting into the swing of things. Please contact Debbie if you plan on coming!

Save the Dates of March 28 - 31 for the Rancho California Arabian Spring Show and the Region 2 Sport Horse and Dressage championships to be held in Burbank!  This show is partnered with San Joaquin Valley Arabian Horse Association.

Patti is an active member of AHA Region 3, and we are excited that she has accepted the Coordinator position. RED BLUFF ARABIAN HORSE ASSOCIATION

Here is news of note about the 2019 show season. For those who want to get an early start on the year, the Red Bluff Arabian Horse Association is already planning a show in January, 2019.

This is a three day True Value show on January 18-20, 2019. Held in Corning, Calif. at the Rolling Hills Equestrian Center, this is an great way to get going in 2019. This show qualifies for Region 3 and Region 4.

An exciting addition this year is the Region 3 Arabian Offsite Cow Classes for 2019. This will be held Saturday morning, January 19, 2019. The Rolling Hills Equestrian Center is an excellent venue for these classes. Plan to arrive for the Friday cow classes, qualify for Region 3 and compete in the Regional Championship Classes on Saturday.   RBAHA also includes all breeds in designated classes.

This facility has two hotels, a golf course, restaurants, and casino - great amenities for the whole family. Hope to see you there!

Sadly RBAHA notes the passing of a dear club member. Chris Massey, known as our English Lady, will be greatly missed.
As a judge in England, Spain and Sweden, and also as a photographer, she led a very active life in the Arabian World.

Her skills as a photographer, as she traveled to Russia and Europe, are evident in the archives she has left.

Rest in peace dear friend.

Wine Country AHA

Wine Country Arabian Horse Association had a great Open Horse Show on October 6. Horses of all breeds came. We sponsored a Stick Horse Class for the kids, and 33 Stick Horses were made. The kids had so much fun.
Our next show is our Halloween Open Schooling Show on October 28th. We have Trail classes, English and Western classes plus fun classes. In November, we will have another Sue Curry Dressage Clinic and will be sending three Delegates to Convention. For more Information, visit us at www.winecountryarabians.com or on Facebook.

Region 5

A fun time was had by all at the Region 5 trail ride September 28-30 at the Washington State Horse Park in Cle Elm. A few people even rode into the nearby town of Roslyn for some ice cream and social time with the public on Main Street.

We are looking forward to our 2019 Equest Fest, which will be held on January 5, 2019 at the Tacoma Convention Center. It will be free, open to the public and offer a broad range of speakers and topics for all equine enthusiasts. The evening will conclude with the Region 5 year-end high point awards dinner. Please plan to join us!

A ROYAL HIGHLIGHT IN REGION 18

New class offered at the 2018 Royal! The ``Open Saddle Seat Battle of the Breeds`` will be held Thursday November 8, Friday November 9 and the Championship class on Saturday November 10. This class is open to Saddlebred, Morgan, Arabian & Half-Arabian, Friesian and Hackney breeds, and all will have a chance to win $20,000 total prize money! Sounds spectacular!  And, of course, the Arabian breed will be at the forefront. We want to have the most breed entries competing, and we want the winners to be Arabian. This is an amazing chance for our exhibitors to have a great time competing under the lights at the famed Royal Horse Show in Toronto and to be judged by top Saddlebred trainer, Melissa Moore of Kentucky. This is a wonderful opportunity to compete with the world`s best light horse breeds and to promote the Arabian horse! Join us.
