Biennial Gala to Honor His All-Holiness

Supreme President George G. Horiates and the Supreme Lodge extend a formal invitation to attend the 45th AHEPA Biennial Congressional Banquet, May 14, 2020, Trump International Hotel, Washington, D.C.
The gala will honor His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I on the occasion of his 2020 Apostolic Visit to the United States. All proceeds will benefit the Ecumenical Patriarchate. |

Supreme President George G. Horiates visited Chapter 64, Harrisburg, Pa., Feb. 24, and participated at the chapter's mass initiation ceremony and banquet. Supreme President Horiates conveyed the Order's appreciation to District 4 Marshal Dr. Michael Billys, Ed.D., for helping to organize the successful event, along with District 4 Governor Charles Mackenzie and Chapter 64 President Christ Megoulas. Congratulations and welcome, Brothers!
AHEPA Mourns Passing of former Board of Trustees Member, PSG Steven Tripodes
AHEPA mourns the passing of Past Supreme Governor Steven G. Tripodes. Brother Tripodes, a 67-year Life Member of Rose Bowl Chapter 373, Pasadena, Calif., passed away Feb. 19, 2020. He was 87.
"We are deeply saddened with the news of Brother Tripodes' passing," Supreme President George G. Horiates said. "A pillar of the Greek American community of Southern California, we are forever grateful for Brother Tripodes' decades of dedication and service to our Order, which garnered the respect and admiration of AHEPA family members throughout the domain. Our deepest sympathies and condolences are with the Tripodes family. May his memory be eternal."
Brother Tripodes served two terms as supreme governor and several terms on the Board of Directors/Trustees, including as its secretary. He also was the recipient of the AHEPA District 20 Periclean Award and contributed to many AHEPA national projects. |

Inaugural Rising Sons Conference Held
Sons of Pericles members traveled to the Diakonia Retreat Center, Salem, S.C., for a weekend of service and brotherhood. As part of the Rising Sons initiative, the first Rising Sons Conference program featured professional development, strategic planning for the Order, and beautifying the campgrounds for future use. The Sons helped to clean up, restore, and build some new structures for campers to use for years to come.

Greek-American Eleni Maria Roumel was sworn in as a Federal Judge by Vice President Mike Pence at the White House on February 24. Roumel will serve on the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and was nominated by President Donald Trump on June 24, 2019, to a seat vacated by Mary Ellen Coster Williams. She was confirmed by the Senate on January 8, 2020, and received commission on February 24. read more
