Join Us for our December Events

We are celebrating the first week of advent on campus and our school is preparing for so many special opportunities for alumnae and community members to gather for some holiday cheer. Come join us for the Lighting of the Bell Tower on Thursday, December 12.

If you are interested in serving as a Christmas Song Contest judge at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 20 or plan to join us for the Alumnae Christmas Reception that evening, I would love to hear from you.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy our second installment of What You Can Bring to the Table Series with Student Styles and let us know if you would like to join us in Italy!

God bless,

Katie Ann McDermott '98

What You Can Bring to the Table: Student Styles

Click the image to watch my tour of Student Styles (full interview available on our YouTube Channel), and please visit our business directory on AHNConnect to support their business.

Student Styles is a woman-owned and family-run business founded in 2000, when owner Christi Smith saw a need in the Capital District for a school uniform retail store long before the days of online shopping.

Fast forward to 2024, Student Styles has a very active online store to go along with its 10,000 sq ft retail and production facility.

Though they specialize in school uniforms, they also provide custom silk-screening, embroidery and promotional products for customers other than schools. The business is currently being run by junior partners and AHN alumnae Jennifer Smith Wade '03 and Alexandra Smith Carman '07. Jennifer and Alexandra are taking over the daily operations of the business while their mom Christi starts to semi-retire!
