Inauguration and Vaccine Update

By State Rep. Matt Ritter

Inauguration Day...I felt the weight come off my shoulders. It was a great day for a nation that needs healing and leadership. It was also a great day for Connecticut. States have been desperate for federal leadership during the pandemic...now it's here.

Exploring Asylum Hill - 1st "Health is Wealth Hub"

By Bernie Michel

There's a new food pantry on Ashley St near Huntington with a sign that says "Health is Wealth Hub". It's the first of its kind, and it was installed on Saturday the 17th, which is when this photo was taken. The one I took the following Thursday shows that it's being used.

Volunteer of the Month - AHNA Green Committee

Shortly after Lynn Johnson was elected to the AHNA Board, she proposed the idea of a Green Committee to focus attention on the environment as it relates to improving the quality of life that is the AHNA mission. It didn't take long at all to gather a small group of members committed to advancing those principles and practices.

Hartford Climate Emergency Resolution

The  Green Committee recommends that AHNA endorse the  Climate Emergency
Resolution. This comprehensive Resolution was prepared by the Hartford
Chapter of the Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL), to be presented to the Court of
Common Council of the City of Hartford in February. CCL is a national bipartisan organization with over 600 local chapters looking to find common ground on climate change solutions.

These values preserve My Black Woman Magic.
My goal is to keep my energy positive and be productive often.
My Black Woman Magic can no longer be wasted on issues and people who do not deserve it.
Boundaries Matter.
My Black Woman Magic is not about being an angry black woman.
My Black Woman Magic is about being my BEST me.
My Black Woman has Peace within.
It is ok to let people figure things out on their own.
I think what I want and if that's ok for me others have the same right.
My Black Woman Magic

Encourages,
Embraces,
Inspires,
Creative,
It gives hope and looks for ways uplifts those who need it.
I am a Black Woman who is proud to serve community.
