Quarterly Report on Commercially Available Kava Products Q4 2025

The Kava Coalition’s newly released Q4 2025 Market Survey shows clear progress in the quality and safety of commercially available kava products, with 73% meeting microbial safety action limits, up from 49% in Q1 2025. Independent testing of 40 products found no detectable heavy metals, pesticides, mycotoxins, or residual solvents, and confirmed the presence of authentic noble kava chemotypes. While the results point to growing adoption of stronger standards, ongoing microbial challenges highlight why continued testing and transparency remain critical. AHP Releases Kava Monograph Executive Summary

The American Herbal Pharmacopoeia® (AHP) released its long-anticipated Kava Rhizome & Root monograph in October, marking a watershed moment in the global dialogue on noble kava’s role as a safe, culturally significant, and pro-social beverage. This comprehensive scientific and ethnobotanical review provides regulators, industry leaders, and consumers with a clear framework for understanding both the safety and the benefits of noble kava.

The Executive Summary, released this week, summarizes the conclusions of one of the most comprehensive reviews of Piper methysticum ever published in the English language.
