Yesterday, and all Mondays for the most part are either really productive, or not so much. This week it turned out to be not so much but what an eye-opener I had...
Yesterday, during my monthly women’s peer-to-peer advisory board meeting(if you want info about this group—just ask!), I casually mentioned a worry that’s been on my mind: AI potentially taking away client work from my business. To my surprise, the immediate reaction from the group was the exact opposite of what I expected. They told me business owners are often terrified of using AI. They don’t know how to start, what to trust, or where it might lead, so they avoid it completely. I was honestly shocked. In my tech-focused circles, we embrace AI every day, but clearly, there’s a whole community out there who sees AI as the boogeyman lurking in the corner.
This eye-opener sparked a new blog article and a flood of ideas on how I can help business owners feel more comfortable and confident exploring AI tools. By the way, I’ve been getting great feedback on these story-based newsletters—thanks for reading each week and for sharing your thoughts!
It’s easy to assume everyone thinks like we do, especially if we spend most of our time in certain networks or industries. Stepping outside that bubble can reveal opportunities to connect with people who have different fears, challenges, and goals. AI isn’t scary once you understand it—it can simplify tasks, boost productivity, and even open new revenue streams. The key is education and a gentle approach. The same logic applies to other areas of your business, like your business plan. It’s National Write a Business Plan Month—if you already have one, update it. If not, start drafting. Embrace what scares you, gain some knowledge, and watch the fear melt away.
If AI is feeling a bit too much like a haunted house for your liking, you’re not alone. Fortunately, you don’t have to navigate this shift on your own. There are resources, tools, and step-by-step guidance out there to help you integrate AI into your business in a way that makes sense. Just like revisiting your business plan, consider updating your approach to new technologies. Start small, ask for help, and remember—growth often happens when we step beyond our comfort zones.
Ready to learn more? I’ve put together a blog post called “From Siri to ChatGPT: How You're Already Using AI Without Realizing It” (link included below). After you give it a read, let’s talk about how you can ease into AI and other growth-focused strategies. Book a free strategy session with me, Steve, or Mackenzie.
