Welcome to The Cirrostratus Group October newsletter.
In last month's newsletter I talked about three different types of AI enabled SaaS applications. This post looked at SaaS applications from the perspective of the data and technical approach and the implications to your business especially as it relates to onboarding and ongoing customer interactions. This month I want to share some information about some specifics of what type of AI functionality can be added to your SaaS solution. Hopefully you'll get some good ideas from the information below.
It's clear that enterprises, especially large enterprises, are rapidly adopting AI as outlined in this article from Software Strategies Blog.
Enterprise Resource Planning is a core application for most businesses and provides financial, manufacturing, logistics, procurement functionality and sometimes human resources and customer management functionality. Some use cases of machine learning for ERP are nicely explained in this article from AI Multiple. In addition, several financial use cases for AI are explained, some of which relate to ERP and some that are more specialized financial services applications. There are also many customer service use cases using AI capabilities.
Hopefully the above articles help give you some ideas of how to incorporate AI into your SaaS application.
Future Technology Trends for 2022
McKinsey just released their view offuture technology trends that they believe will have the largest impact on businesses. Many of these trends apply directly to SaaS applications either by incorporating the technology or enabling the application to take advantage of the technology. Artificial Intelligence, process automation, faster connectivity, hybrid & multi-cloud infrastructure and neural network/machine learning written software are all trends they highlighted that are likely to apply to your SaaS business in the future. Using these trends as guideposts can help you form the vision of your future application functionality so you can capitalize on future technology directions.
