Asteroid Sample Suggests Life’s Building Blocks May Be Widespread in the Universe!
At least 14 of the 20 amino acids used by life on Earth have been identified in samples from the asteroid Bennu, which were delivered to Earth in September 2023. A new analysis of the isotopes of these amino acids suggests they may have formed in much colder regions of space, far from our young Sun, possibly in icy environments.
