Topics That Matter

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

The potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in aviation is unlimited and will revolutionize our industry. So of course we are covering this emerging tech at ATCA Annual (along with dozens of other key issues)! Our conference programming and our innovative exhibitors will help lay the foundation of how our industry plans to utilize AI/ML to increase efficiency without sacrificing safety in the NAS.
Have you seen ATCA's latest issue of The Journal of Air Traffic Control ?
This issue goes beyond new entrants to explore emerging AI concepts and technologies that offer solutions to modernize the NAS.

Read it at the ATCA Booth (#747) on the Exhibit Hall floor and pick up the new fall issue!

Can't Miss AI/ML Conference Sessions
Welcome to the Matrix
Tuesday, Oct. 22
3:30 p.m.
Three leaders in aviation cybersecurity, data, and AI will take attendees on a journey through the digital here and now and paint a picture of what the airspace may look like in a future dominated by AI, ML, cyber threats, and lots (and lots) of data.
Emerging Technologies and the Leaders Behind Them: The Changing Face of Our Industry and the NAS
Wednesday, Oct. 23
10:45 a.m.
AI is challenging governments and industries to harness the power of ML to the benefit of efficiency and safety. These emerging technologies have created a paradigm shift on how we look at airspace, aircraft, and airport operations. This panel will explore how industry leaders see the future and their areas of concern, what investments in new technologies they are making, and how they are addressing safety and security as they plan their R&D and go-to-market efforts.

Aviation Risk Identification and Assessment (ARIA)

Monday, Oct. 21
10:50 a.m.
Utilizing an advanced data analytic framework and leveraging innovative machine learning techniques, The MITRE Corporation and the FAA have been developing a new technique to automatically identify high risk aviation events and prioritize them for daily examination. In this session, the presenters will discuss how ARIA capability is changing the way risk is identified and prioritized in the NAS.
Deep Learning Demystified

Monday, Oct. 21
1 p.m.
The Booz Allen / NVIDIA Deep Learning Demystified session is a 30-minute lecture that provides an overview of deep learning ideal for the executive audience. The lecture covers the key terminology, FAA and aviation industry use cases, how deep learning differs from the previous algorithmic approach, and how a deep neural network gets trained, optimized, and deployed. You’ll learn how deep learning can be applied to challenging problems, what types of problems benefit most from deep learning, what skills and knowledge are needed to use deep learning, and the characteristics of successful deep learning projects.
