2019-2020 YAF LEADERSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!
Building upon the successes of previous YAF Leadership Programs, AIA Charlotte is pleased to launch our third offering of this widely valued program geared toward identifying and developing leadership skills, teaching the importance of utilizing those skills, and inspiring and charging young architects to be leaders for positive change in our community.
 
Program kicks off September 2019 and runs through April 2020

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
·        Applicants must be an AIA Member and licensed 10 years or less.
·        Attendance at each session w/ up to 2 absences. We will release the official schedule when applicants are notified that they have been accepted. When accepted they will then confirm they wish to enroll and provide payment for the program.
·     Program fee is $215
·           Applications must be submitted by June 27   th
·     Each session will start at 11:30 starting with a group lunch. At noon the scheduled presentation/exercise/group activity will start and last for roughly the next hour and a half.  
·     Topics for each session focus on personal development, professional advancement, and community involvement. Some examples of session topics include taking a personality & leadership assessment, risk management case studies, panel discussions, and connecting participants with opportunities to become more involved within the Charlotte area.

The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art’s Modernism + Film program investigates themes in design, engineering, architecture and modern/contemporary art through the lens of film. In his new documentary, photographer Don Freeman explores the homes designed and lived in by notable American artists, revealing the inventiveness derived from the dialogue between each artist's practice and the construction of their handmade homes.
LEGISLATIVE WEDNESDAY 
Update on Negotiations with Interior Designers
No agreement reached with Interior Designers to limit their practice of architecture as permitted by House Bill 858.

Legislative Wednesday event number 5 is quickly approaching! The initiative in opposition to the Interior Design Licensing bill H858 is underway.

On Wednesday, orientation will be provided from 10:00 to 10:45 AM and teams formed to begin canvassing legislators at or before 11:15 AM. Lunch sandwiches will be provided at CfAD at 2:00pm following start of the legislative sessions in House and Senate.
