As my term as President comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on 2025 and, more importantly, to thank each of you for the commitment, generosity, and professionalism you bring to our chapter.
Among our many successes, the year’s biggest and most impactful event was the Focus on Design Awards program, which celebrated design excellence across our region and reaffirmed the impact thoughtful architecture has on our communities. Other highlights included our annual Topgolf outing, which continues to strengthen camaraderie across firms and generations, as well as a variety of hard hat tours that offered valuable, behind-the-scenes learning experiences.
I am grateful for the opportunity to represent AIA Dayton throughout the year at the AIA Leadership Summit in Washington, DC; the AIA National Conference in Boston; and both AIA Ohio Advocacy Day and the AIA Ohio Conference in Columbus—experiences that underscored our chapter’s strength within the state and national AIA community.
This year’s achievements would not have been possible without the dedication of our Board, committee chairs, volunteers, and our chapter staff. Your time, insight, and steady leadership kept the chapter moving forward and ensured that our initiatives were thoughtful, relevant, and well executed. Serving alongside you has been both an honor and a learning experience.
To our members: thank you for your participation and your trust. Your engagement—whether attending events, mentoring others, advocating for the profession, or simply staying connected—makes AIA Dayton vibrant and impactful. I am continually inspired by the talent and integrity within this community.
As I pass the gavel to our incoming President, I do so with confidence in the future of AIA Dayton. The chapter is well positioned to continue growing, adapting, and leading, and I look forward to supporting that work in new ways.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve. I am grateful for the friendships, collaborations, and shared purpose that defined 2025, and I am excited to see where the next year will take us.
With appreciation,
- Bryan Greene, AIA
