Critical path method is an algorithm used to simplify complex scheduling of project activities and determine longest duration to complete the tasks that cannot be delayed without affecting the over project duration. Critical path scheduling facilitates improved project control by comparing actual progress to planned progress, facilitates effective management of resources, and improves productivity. Project Administration utilizing Critical Path Method allows for the manager/administrator to plan, track, execute, and report project activities timely and efficiently.

Strategic Plan for 2025 – 2028
The AIA Dayton Board of Directors met January 14, 2025 to review and update the chapter's Strategic Plan. In doing so, the Board also reviewed the current strategic plans for AIA National and AIA Ohio. While the National and Ohio's plans focus on the big picture societal issues that relate to our profession, it was agreed that AIA Dayton's focus should continue to be on serving our membership and local communities.
Three main goals were identified:
• Engage our Membership
• Connect with our Profession and the Community
• Impact the Community
Strategies were developed for each of our three goals and will serve as our body of work going forward.

Holy Smokes – A Claim Case Study
2 AIA/CES LU | PDH | HSW Qualified
Discipline: Architect & Structural Engineer
Project Type: Church renovation and expansion: Poor coordination between the architect’s project manager and structural engineer results in a design that can’t be constructed. The contractor retains another engineer to move the project forward. When the contractor removes the shoring from the free-span ceiling, the roof drops several inches and causes an outward deflection on the beams. Accusations fly and lawyer fees mount.
