Join AIA Dayton for a Roundtable Discussion with Dayton Mayor Jeff Mims and City Staff

AIA Dayton is continuing its tradition of periodic meetings with city officials. These were discontinued during COVID, with the last in-person meeting being held in December 2019. Join us for this in-person meeting at Sinclair Community College, where Mayor Jeff Mims and many of his staff, will join us to discuss City of Dayton procedures for plans submissions, downtown improvements, and upcoming items of interest to the design build professionals.
Representatives have been invited from many city departments, and a listing will be provided prior to the meeting. Bring your questions for the City, and get to meet all the players.
There will be refreshments at 8:30 am, followed by the Roundtable discussion, which will be moderated by Dave Bills, AIA.

AIA Dayton and Siebenthaler Nursery Announce Sponsor Picnic
The annual Sponsor Appreciation Picnic at the Siebenthaler’s Cabin at the Garden Center is Thursday, September 8 at 5:30 PM. Hosts AIA Dayton and Robert and Jeff Siebenthaler are excited to continue the tradition of the picnic and the 50+ years of architects gathering with the Siebenthaler landscape design crew and chapter sponsors for an evening of good food, good drinks, and appreciation of great friends and design.
AIA Dayton’s annual chapter sponsors are invited as AIA Dayton’s guests, and AIA Dayton members are invited to attend free. The picnic is a benefit of membership, and the chapter’s opportunity to thank its annual sponsors with a steak dinner and recognition.

Congratulations to the DBX Team Building Night Winners!
The Dayton Builders Exchange held its 18th Annual Team Building Night on August 11 at Carillon Park. Dan Wyckoff, AIA Dayton President, represented AIA Dayton at the awards program.
Ferd Ejinaka, Pinnacle Architects, won the Architectural Award for the Omega CDC Hope Center for Families. Pinnacle Architects was also recognized by the Masonry Institute of Dayton for the Omega CDC Hope Center.
The Outstanding Engineer of the Year award went to Larry Cotterman, Heapy Engineering.
