Please join us for dinner and then a talk with Sandra Barclay & Jean Pierre Crousse, cofounders of Barclay & Crousse Architecture. This season's program will be held on March 2nd, 2022.

Valuation Threshold - Chapter 11B-202 by Kerwin Lee
Every January the Division of the State Architect - Access Compliance (DSA-AC) publishes the “Valuation Threshold”. For 2022, the value is $186,172.00. What does this all mean and how is it applied for compliance with the code? This value is based on $50,000 of 1981 dollars and adjusted annually based on the construction index as published by Engineering New Record.

California Architects Board Considering Regulations Affecting Architect Advertising
There is time for architects to submit comments. The California Architects Board (CAB) is holding a virtual meeting on Friday, February 18, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, to receive public comments on its proposed regulation to require architects to include their name and license number on “all forms of advertisement, solicitation, or other presentations made to the public in connection with the rendition of architectural services … including any advertisement, card, letterhead, telephone listing, Internet Web site, written solicitation to a prospective client or clients, or contract proposal.”

ABI December 2020: Architecture firm billings end the year on a sour note
Business conditions at architecture firms backslid in December, ending a tough year on a disappointing note. The AIA’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI) score declined to 42.6 for the month, indicating that more firms saw declining billings in December than in November.
