Each year UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design and AIA East Bay host a joint lecture to raise funds that support our programming and scholarship programs. Please join us for dinner and then a talk with Sandra Barclay & Jean Pierre Crousse, cofounders of Barclay & Crousse Architecture. This season's program will be held on March 2nd, 2022.

This program will focus on how architects can manage the risk that is associated with providing professional services to clients. The presenter is a lawyer with over 30 years’ experience in representing architects, engineers, and other design professionals in all aspects of their practices.

Civil Engineering and Land Surveying are two key components of many successful architectural and urban planning projects. This presentation will describe several key Civil Engineering and Land Surveying design strategies on how to utilize their services to the architect’s advantage.

Working Together by Jonathan Clark
In architecture working together can be applied to so many different aspects of the industry. Coworkers, clients, consultants, the public, etc. I want to focus on working together with the various building departments that have jurisdiction over our projects. For most of our projects that is either a city or county building department (and many 3rd party plan check companies that are hired by these jurisdictions).

ABI December 2020: Architecture firm billings end the year on a sour note
Business conditions at architecture firms backslid in December, ending a tough year on a disappointing note. The AIA’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI) score declined to 42.6 for the month, indicating that more firms saw declining billings in December than in November.
