What's Happening: East Kentucky and Beyond
Everyone deserves universal respect and human dignity.

"As Americans, we are mindful of this nation's dark history of racial inequality. We are appalled by any actions that further threaten the  universal respect and human dignity that everyone deservesAs architects, we remain committed to advancing civil rights protections, fair housing policies, and accessibility in the built world to help achieve the more perfect union we all seek. The fact is that architects and AIA, in our more than 160-year history, have not always felt compelled to share our perspectives. But the times we live in, the horrific nature of the events we witness, and the role we see for every member of our society demands that we speak out."

- Jane Frederick, FAIA
AIA 2020 President

RE-OCCUPANCY ASSESSMENT TOOL

Architects and allied professionals are in a unique position to coordinate a range of mitigation strategies that, in aggregate, reduce the risk of exposure to and transmission of COVID-19 within non-health care settings. The goal of this assessment tool is to promote best practices that protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public while creating opportunities for businesses, schools, restaurants, and other non-essential facilities to provide services.
AIA Re-occupancy Assessment Tool

Why is this beneficial to me?  This document provides architects, private clients, and civic leaders a framework of strategies for reoccupying buildings and businesses that are in the process of transitioning from being fully closed to fully open.

(*Each month we'll share a potentially unknown and relevant AIA National resources offered to you free with your membership that you may not be taking advantage of!)
