HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
With trick-or-treating coming a day early for most, the sugar comas are likely setting in! We hope everyone took advantage of the nice weather last night and please send us your best architecturally-themed costume pictures for us to share!  

We have a lot going on in November with CANstruction (Build Day 11/12) and  our annual meeting / holiday party at HopCat (11/29) - see below for additional information and mark your calendars before they fill up this holiday season!

CANSTRUCTION LEXINGTON 2018 

BUILD DAY IS NOVEMBER 12TH: 
AIA EKC is hosting the second annual CANstruction Lexington event! This year's program, which will benefit God's Pantry Food Bank, offers a fun way to get creative and bring attention to Lexington's design and construction industry, while also providing a valuable service to your community.
 
The event is being held at The Lexington Convention Center (430 W Vine St) with a build date of 11/12/18 and a deconstruction date of 12/3/18. (5) Teams have registered, so please make plans to view these incredible sculptures while on display. The awards ceremony will be held on 11/29/18 at the EKC annual meeting / holiday party at the HopCat downtown from 6:30 - 9:00pm. EKC ANNUAL MEETING & HOLIDAY PARTY  

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29TH  
HOPCAT DOWNTOWN  /  6:30 - 9:00pm 
Mark your calendars and plan to attend this year's event at the HopCat downtown.  The evening will coincide with the CANstruction awards ceremony and feature the annual meeting/elections and year-end review. It is also an opportunity to mingle with peers and allied sponsors.    

We ask that you please encourage AIA members from your office or colleagues to join you for a great evening. New members for 2018 will also be recognized.

UK Student Center Building Tour (November 1, 2018) 
Jeff Bennett, AIA of Omni Architects will be leading the tour of the new UK Student Center on Thursday, November 1st from 11:45am - 1:00pm. Be on the lookout for separate correspondence regarding registration for this upcoming building tour.

  • alt32 Architecture and Cox Architecture have joined to form alt32 + Cox, solidifying a partnership that combines decades of portfolio and intellectual resources. Mike Sparkman and Alvin Cox will lead the firm with continued emphasis on client-centered service, design and research.
     
  • RossTarrant Architects' Ogden College Hall at Western Kentucky University was recently selected as the first project in Kentucky to receive the Shaw Contract Design Award
  • Congratulations to Lisa Grober, AIA on recently joining the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) as an Administrative Officer
