AIA National News
AI Task Force
AIA has released two foundational documents to help architects and firms navigate the growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the profession: the AIA Position Statement on Artificial Intelligence and the Guidance for the Responsible Use of AI by Architecture and Design Firms.
AIA Small Firm Compensation & Benefits Report
The updated AIA Small Firm Compensation & Benefits Report is tailored for sole proprietorships and firms with fewer than three architectural staff
Energy Code Update
AIA is weighing in on proposed 2030 energy code updates from the International Code Council that could reshape how buildings are designed, evaluated, and regulated. Proposed changes would split the code into “base” and “expanded” categories, potentially affecting design flexibility, liability, and how performance is measured. AIA’s recommendations emphasize long-term innovation, including life-cycle performance, 30-year cost analysis, and readiness for electrification, solar, and EV infrastructure. These decisions could influence project costs, compliance complexity across states, and how architects support public health, safety, and building resilience.

Whether it’s fellowship, grants and financial support, or engaging programs and other valuable professional development resources, this season is filled with opportunities to learn, collaborate, and grow together.
This collective power of our membership is the beauty of the AIA, and we thank you for being a part of our dynamic community. If you haven’t yet, we sincerely hope that you’ll renew your membership prior to the deadline of March 31 so that we can continue serving you.
Please reach out to our staff if you have any questions or concerns about your renewal and we will look forward to seeing you at an upcoming program as our community continues to shape the future of architecture in Kentucky.
