The Emerging Practice Award recognizes notable, innovative achievements in design, community service, education, and service to the profession and the AIA by an architectural firm within Los Angeles that has been in existence for a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 7 years.


The recipient is honored during the 2023 AIA|LA Design Awards Ceremony.

This award distinguishes an architect, designer or architectural practice that embodies social responsibility and actively addresses equity, diversity and inclusivity in the profession. This social engagement or initiative isn’t restricted to architecture—it can be expressed in any area of the nominee’s life or work. An Open Call for Issue Briefs


The AIA|LA Government Outreach Committee (GO!) invites all AIA members to share ideas for Issue Briefs. If selected by GO! and endorsed by the AIA|LA Board of Directors, up to five Issue Briefs will be included in the 2023 Advocacy Platform, which will be presented to Los Angeles City Council during our annual Legislative Day at City Hall in early December 2023.
