How AIA contracts address the COVID-19 pandemic

For the foreseeable future, the design and construction industry may experience considerable disruptions, such as material shortages, construction delays, work stoppages, and suspended and terminated projects due to the coronavirus pandemic. This article provides some tips on how to handle project delays, suspensions, and terminations with AIA documents, and also provides a list of some insurance issues to consider.

AIA Implores Congress to Provide Relief to Business Owners and Employees

ARE testing  Centers are closed until May 1, 2020 As a result, NCARB has extended our no-cost rescheduling period for Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®) appointments and is adding an additional six-month rolling clock extension to all valid passing scores.

The revised Michigan Health Facilities Rules became effective Feb 21, 2020 Any new healthcare construction/renovation submitted after April 1, 2020 to the Health Facilities Engineering Section (HFES) will be reviewed to 2018 Facilities Guidelines Institute guidelines (with some modifications per Michigan amendments that found in the revised Michigan rules). This includes all three volumes of the 2018 FGI (Hospital, Residential & Outpatient) applied to those types of health facilities covered under the revised rules.
