DEADLINE EXTENDED
- “Yeah - What Lester Said”
Call for Submission - Net-Zero/Embodied Carbon Projects
The threat climate change poses is existential, and architecture is one of the key drivers—even more so than that stock culprit, the automobile. Buildings consume some 40 percent of the energy in the US annually. Construction and its related trades are responsible for nearly half of the carbon emissions in the U.S. and astonishingly, out of the 20,000 architecture firms in the United States, only some 400 are participating in the AIA’s 2030 Commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030.
In collaboration with the
City of Detroit, Ann Arbor and Detroit 2030 Districts, Activist Artists, Climate Scientists, and Architects, Lawrence Technological University’s Detroit Center for Design + Technology and their curatorial partner, Embrace Creatives, The American Institute of Architects, Michigan
are bringing this absolutely necessary conversation to the forefront before it’s too late.
We’re reaching for you to submit your Net-Zero/Embodied Carbon Project to be part of this exhibition.
Requirements:
·
Submit one PowerPoint slide in
Widescreen (16:9) slide size and use as many photos to display your project.
·
Limit words on the slide and please make them large enough to read.
·
Submit one 50-word document about your firm and its commitment to Net-Zero/Embodied Carbon
Please submit your project(s) by May 15, 2020 to be reviewed.
Email your submission(s) to
aiami@aiami.com
with the subject line “2020 Net-Zero/Embodied Carbon Submission”
*It is essential that drawings and photographs are not restricted against publication.
