The AIA Codes Network will host two webinars this fall introducing members to the AIA Blue Ribbon Panel report "Disruption, Evolution, and Change: AIA's Vision of the Future of Design and Construction." Each course has been submitted for approval for 1.5 HSW LUs .

Content - This will be a study group covering the following 4 sections of the exam:
  • Development + Documentation
  • Construction + Evaluation
  • Practice Management 
  • Project Management

We ask that everyone please bring 10 - 15 quiz questions per category to share with the group. Participants should also bring their laptops. Questions will be provided by the AD from the Brightwood Study Materials.

C ALL FOR VOLUNTEERS - October 22nd  the Washtenaw Contractors Association will be hosting the 22nd  “JUST BUILD IT!”  Construction Career Expo. This is the longest running and most comprehensive construction career exploration program in Michigan. It provides students in grades 8-12 and their counselors and teachers with hands on activities with the skilled trade apprenticeship programs; demonstrations by industry professionals such as architects and engineers; and exhibits by construction firms, educational institutions and industry organizations. Since the Expo was introduced, 31,718 students from 178 schools in 12 counties in southeast and central Michigan have participated. AIA Huron Valley will be sponsoring and exhibiting. We are looking for volunteers to design the exhibit and staff the event from 8:00 until 2:00 (we will be working in shifts).
