The Architects, Engineers & Surveyors Legislative Committee (AESLC) represents the design profession by advocating on your behalf in the Michigan Legislature. Over the past several years we have been able to pass or oppose many pieces of important legislation, for example: 2016 Passage of Public Act 435, Improvements to Article 20, 2015 Passage of SB 309, Amendment of the State Condominium Act
2015 Passage of Public Acts 174-180
, Increased funding for Transportation

AIA National Photography Competition Deadline: March 15, 2017
Competition is open to all AIA members, including AIAS members and architects currently registered in the United States. The competition was founded to capture and showcase the talent of the architects and design professionals through their photographs. Top four prizes are cash awards; $500 - $200 and top fourteen photographs will be exhibited at the AIA Convention in Orlando, Florida. In addition, the top fourteen images will be made into note cards, with each winner provided a complimentary set.

SpeakUp will focus on training new advocates (there's no need to attend SpeakUp more than once). Grassroots features an optional pre-conference day for Capitol Hill visits if desired.
