Number of U.S. Architects Holds Steady, While Professional Mobility Increases
New data from NCARB reveals that while the number of architects remains consistent, practitioners are looking to get licensed in multiple states.

Orlando, FL-There are 109,748 architects in the United States, according to the 2016 Survey of Architectural Registration Boards. While this represents a minimal drop from the previous year (roughly .4 percent), the survey also reveals that architects increasingly hold licenses in multiple states. In fact, U.S. architects now have 126,554 reciprocal (out-of-state) licenses, a 3 percent increase from 2015.

Conducted annually by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), the survey provides exclusive insight into the number of U.S. architects and reciprocal licenses.

The pool of emerging professionals working toward licensure also held steady in 2016, with more than 41,400 candidates taking the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®) and/or reporting Architectural Experience Program™ (AXP™) hours. Read More

New Firm Benchmarking Tool
AIA's Firm Benchmarking Tool will help firms compare their data with newly available AIA Firm Survey data. It is an online interactive portal that launches with a module containing three key performance indicators of financial success-revenue per employee, profitability, and share of repeat clients. Weekly Highlights

  Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship

Are you an emerging professional beginning the path to licensure? The Architects Foundation is proud to sponsor the Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship for another year. This program recognizes the "significant contributions of emerging professionals at early stages in their careers and helps defray the costs associated with the Architect Registration Exam." Submissions are open from April 17 - June 19, 2017. Be sure and take advantage of this phenomenal opportunity.
See the website for more information, including application guidelines.

We will hold our annual Gregor and Elizabeth Affleck House grounds Spring Site work days in May from 8.30 am - 4.00 pm. as we prepare for the FLW 150th birthday event. Please RSVP to Julie Vulaj 5-6 days before the date you can assist, via email.

Key Dates as follows: May 13th. and May 21st.
Our continued efforts are to clean up and landscape the site for greater beneficial use. This will reflect FLW's design principals keeping the foundation of the house visible. With 10-15 volunteers working together, we could really make a difference!
Food and water will be provided.

Volunteers should bring gloves, wear protective shoes and clothing. These events are BYOT. Bring your own tools. Loppers, pruning shears, rakes, shovels, hoes, wheel barrows are always in high demand. Any donations of yard waste bags would be appreciated. Please mark with your name. Be aware that poison Ivy and oak exist on the site. Although we are actively working to eradicate it, there are still patches on the site.

Wow! Lots happening to keep the restoration momentum going!  Thank you for your time today, and on-going dedication to our Frank Lloyd Wright. Without you, all this would never have been possible!
