It's not too early to secure your room for the 2018 convention. AIAMI has secured a block of rooms at the Hilton Midtown which is the AIA headquarters hotel. More here about the hotel. If you are interested in reserving a room with the AIAMI block follow this link. You will be asked to enter your information. You are responsible for making your reservation, updating and cancellations. The rate is $389 per night. There are other rooms available on the 2018 convention site here.

 Obituary

Gordon   Stanley Don   Anderson - Bloomfield Hills - age 89, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018. He was born March 25, 1928 in Detroit, MI the son of the late Anton and Marie (Baaken) Anderson. 

Beloved husband of Patricia A. (Bell) Anderson whom he married in Marine City, MI on September 12, 1950. Loving father of Kathleen Brithinee, Carol (Jim) Donovan and James Anderson. Proud grandfather of four and great-grandfather of 3. He is also survived by one sister and 2 brothers. 

Gordon was a 1946 graduate and co-salutatorian of Algonac High school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1948. He graduated from the University of Detroit in 1953 with a Master's degree in Architectural Engineering. Gordon worked for Palmquest and Wright Architects and in 1960 started Anderson-Reinke and Associates, retiring in 1993 after 33 years of service. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects (A.I.A.) and Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Bloomfield Hills. 

Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by MacDonald's Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800). Memorial contributions may be made to the Great Lakes Home Care and Hospice. Please sign the family's online guestbook at  www.macdonaldsfuneralhome.com .
