ANNUAL DESIGN AWARDS 2018
|
|
AIAri Design Awards Celebration will be held next Thursday, December 6, 2018 at South Street Landing, Providence, RI.
The Chapter's Annual Meeting (for all members) is at 5:30pm, and the Design Awards Celebration is from 6-10pm.
Tickets: Ticket prices are as follows: $75.00 for AIA Members, $85.00 for Non-Members, and $250 for the AIA Member Group Rate (4 tickets included; savings of $50).
This year we have expanded the menu, added musicians and have included a Toys for Tots Drive!
Come celebrate the great architecture of Rhode Island and Rhode Island Architects!

EMERGING PROFESSIONALS: UPCOMING TOUR

Join the AIA Emerging Professionals this
Friday, November 30th at 3:30PM
to tour the
Residence Inn by Marriott
(across from the Dean). The new Residence Inn by Marriott (Providence, RI) located at 100 Sabin Street is a high-rise hotel featuring a mix of guestroom types with fully equipped kitchens and modern amenities geared towards extended stay travelers. The +/- 127,000 sq. ft. the building accommodates 176 guestrooms over nine stories and features an independent restaurant tenant on the ground floor. Vision 3 Architects serves as architect of record on the project in collaboration with the design architect and interior designer, Group One Partners.

Increasing Community Resiliency as Planning/ Zoning Officials
Thursday, December 6th, 5:00-7:30 PM
This workshop will present information about the effect of flooding and sea-level rise on land use and transportation systems through existing resources like PREP-RI videos, and online studies and reports to inform decision makers and help to meet the mandatory requirement.

As of October 1, 2018 the Architect Registration Examination fees increased. The cost of each ARE 5.0 division increased from $210 to $235.

STUDYING FOR ARE 5.0?
Come join our Test Prep Collective for access to Study Materials, Review Sessions and Seminars with ARE Mentors. Our group meets regularly and is a great resource to complete your "Path to Licensure."
The Collective meets Tuesdays from 6:00-7:30 at a different location every week.

Founded in 1875, AIA Rhode Island is a statewide component of the American Institute of Architects, and is the seventh oldest AIA chapter. It is a professional association representing over 200 professionals and 35 Corporate Affiliate members. Members adhere to a code of ethics and professional conduct that assures clients, the public, and colleagues of an AIA-member architect’s dedication to the highest standards in professional practice. Corporate Affiliate and Allied members include engineers, contractors, owners/clients, public officials, other allied professionals, students, and others interested in design and the built environment.
