The 2023 Design Award Committee led by our Practice & Design Director is in need of volunteers to join our committee.


The next meeting is this Friday, February 3 at 8AM. We are looking for people to help with graphics, event planning, and marketing!

AIA Rochester 2023 Designers Unleashed: Ideas Competition – Roc the Riverway Edition!

REGISTRATION ENDS FEBRUARY 9th

 

This annual competition is open to students, unlicensed professionals and architects registered less than 10 years from the AIA Rochester jurisdiction. New this year: $500 prize for the winning entry!

 

This year we wanted to focus your attention towards an ongoing local initiative that is part of the ROC the Riverway/Building Bridges to the Future initiative and has been commonly referred to as the Aqueduct Re-imagined Project. This project was introduced in 2022 by Mayor Evans and is in the beginning stages of public input and conceptual design, offering up an exciting opportunity for young designers from across the Rochester area to provide valuable input using your design skills and knowl­edge pertaining to equitable and inclusive urban design.

Join us! In honor of International Women's Day, the Women in Architecture Committee invites you to join in kicking off a series featuring accomplished local women leaders offering their insights and guidance to emerging women architects.


Jennifer Takatch, AIA is a principal at Architectura, PC. She is drawn to projects that are unusual and unique, with a focus on restoration and renovation. Her clients span from public projects to single family home owners. She finds adventure in every project!

2023 Social Media Initiative


AIA Rochester will again be featuring projects done by local architect members/firms and we hope to hear from you!

Each firm can submit up to 5 projects. All we need is:

2-3 photos of your project (including one detailed photo of a specific aspect), a short description of the project and the architect and photographer names. Deadline for submissions is February 17th and will be featured during the months of February through April!. Email submissions to Linda Hewitt. We look forward to hearing from you!.
