AIA Applauds NCARB for Eliminating the

Rolling Clock!

WASHINGTON – February 27, 2023 – Today The American Institute of Architects celebrated the decision by the Board of Directors of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) for eliminating the “rolling clock” to architecture licensure. Data indicates that the rolling clock policy is a potential impediment to licensure, with disproportionate effects on women and people from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds. AIA has held ongoing discussions with NCARB in support of the removal of the rolling clock policy to advance a more inclusive future for the architecture profession.

AIA EVP/CEO Lakisha Ann Woods, CAE, announced to applause last week during the AIA Leadership Summit in Washington, DC that the association would be launching a campaign to collect stories about how the rolling clock has affected individuals’ paths to licensure.

Reshaping Rochester

After the Inner Loop: What Next

March 9th @ 5:30pm

Join us as Norman examines the system of thinking and planning that conceived of flawed projects such as the Inner Loop and the acres of parking that gobbled up much of downtown. He will look at how other cities have had success in overcoming auto centric thinking and have gradually evolved into cities for people rather than for cars. The success of these communities provides a roadmap that can guide and inspire Rochester as it plans for the future it desires!
