The Strong National Museum of Play

Build Day: November 18, 2023

This year’s theme is…. Discovering Cans at the Strong. That means this year’s sculptures will all mimic something that exists within the walls of the Strong Museum of Play. Lots of great opportunities there and during the exhibit we will create a little treasure hunt for guests to find the matching exhibits.

Exhibit Dates: November 19th through December 2nd

CANstruction actively seeking sponsors to offset the costs of cans, which will allow more groups to participate and provide more cans for Foodlink.

Please join RIT's Interior Design Lecture Series later this month for "Breathing Surfaces - Brazilian Architecture, 1930-1950, presented by Fernando Diniz Moreria.

The lecture focuses on Modern Architecture in Brazil, more specifically the high-rise building facades in Rio de Janeiro and the use of elements such as cobogo.

AIA Rochester Portfolio/Resume Seminar

Ahead of our Annual AIA Rochester Career Fair (Feb 1, 2024) we will be hosting two sessions to help you develop a professional architecture portfolio & resume.

Nov 30th @ Passero Associates with Dustin Welch, our Emerging Professional Director

December 7th @ CJS Architects with Christian Jankuloski, our Education Director

Light snacks and drinks will be provided. You can attend one or both sessions, but please register!.

AIA Rochester 2024 Design Award

Call for Entries

AIA Rochester is pleased to announce the 2024 Design Awards program. We look forward to a lively in-person event at the Historic German House on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

The deadline for registration is Friday, December 1st. Register your projects on the AIA Rochester website (links below.) You can also visit our website for up to date information regarding the 2024 Design Award program.

AIA Rochester's holiday fundraiser is taking on a new format in 2023. AIA Rochester is collecting coats, hats, scarves, gloves and mittens to be donated to the Rochester City School District for distribution to kids in need. Anyone making a donation to our holiday box will be entered to win a $100 Amazon Gift Card!

We will be collecting items at the Holiday Party, or can drop donations off at the AIA Office (Warner Castle, 5 Castle Park on M-Th from 9AM - 4PM). We can even make arrangements to pick up from you! The drawing will take place at our Holiday Party.

Let's keep our kids warm this Winter and support the growing needs of our community.

2024 AIA Rochester Career Fair

JOIN US for our 5th Annual Career Fair on Thursday, February 1st at the RIT Inn & Conference Center from

4-7PM!

Architecture students from Alfred State, FLCC, RIT, UB, Syracuse University and Hobart William Smith Colleges have all been invited to participate.

There are only 10 booths left. Register NOW so you don't miss out! Cost is only $100 per firm and gets you a table with electric (if needed) and two chairs.
