PA/CE/PDD topics will be covered. Associates from Rochester, Buffalo and Southern NY will be joining in for the event which will be held virtually. It will be moderated by Patrick Flynn, AIA Southern NY Chapter President.


There is no cost to attend, and anyone can join in on the fun but you must be registered. One and a half (1.5) AIA Learning Units will be given to those attending!

Our annual design-build competition presented by Buckingham Properties is BACK on October 8 at The Strong Museum. The competition consists of teams building giant sculptures from canned foods. The food is then donated to Foodlink where it is distributed to those in need throughout the area.

Product Runway at Fashion Week

AIA Rochester and IIDA NY Rochester City Center are proud to present the second Product Runway Show at Fashion Week of Rochester!

Handmade garments from the area's best architecture and design talent will be inspired by a different Rochester landmark. Each piece contains a minimum of 80% building ,materials (carpet, tile, vinyl, upholstery, etc.), designed by local architects, interior designers, and industry partners. Save the date and join us in celebrating the innovative spirit of design!

AIA Film Challenge 2022


This year, we invited architects, filmmakers, and storytellers to share stories of architects working with civic leaders to design sustainable and/or equitable communities.

Soon you will get to watch this year’s entries! Public viewing opens September 9th. You’ll be able to vote once per day for your favorite film until October 14. The film with the most votes at the end of the public voting period will win the People’s Choice Award.

At the same time, our esteemed panel of judges will be evaluating submissions to select the Grand Prize, Runner Up, and Third Place winners. We’ll announce this year’s winning films in a virtual awards ceremony in October. Check back soon for more details.  MORE
