April Women in Architecture Program
Please join AIACOC Women in Architecture and AIAEOK Women in Design on Wednesday, April 28th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. as Wendy Thomas, Executive Director of Leadership Tulsa leads us through a workshop where we will discover our own personal leadership style. $25 for AIA EOK and AIA COC members, $40 for non-AIA members. (Space is limited).

Registration deadline: March 31, 2021, 5:00pm

The goal of the ILS Workshop is to significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of how we communicate, make decisions and work within teams. In this highly interactive workshop each participant will:
• Increase their awareness of interpersonal styles; their own and others’ strengths and “behavioral blind spots.”
• Become aware of and appreciate differences in others’ styles.
• Learn how workplace stress impacts behavior in very predictable ways.
• Improve their ability to build more effective working relationships, despite stylistic differences, by learning how to become situationally flexible.

Each participant will be asked to take a brief 10-minute survey to determine their ILS style. The survey is administered online prior to the workshop. Based on the results the participants will be given an individual report along with a group report. The workshop includes discussion and activities that explore the implications of their individual styles and their organizational dynamics. There is no one-size-fits-all leadership style; the goal is to highlight the importance of leveraging our strengths and flexing our styles in different situations.
Join us for Sketching at Scissortail Park!

Help Us Keep Your AIA Member Record Up-To-Date
AIA has transitioned to a new database and since doing so, we've noticed some mistakes in our AIA and Associate AIA members' records. We encourage you to help us keep your member record up-to-date by logging into your record at aia.org

Once you're logged in, look for the Red Box to the right to manage your information, such as the firm you're assigned to, your preferred address etc.

If you haven't renewed your membership, you can do it there as well. Memberships will lapse on March 31, 2021 for nonpayment.

Questions? Contact Melissa at aiacoc@cox.net

Please note: Allied Membership is local so AIA Central Oklahoma Allied Members do not have a member record at AIA National.
Structures as a Work of Art
The Oklahoma Pop Museum represents the anchor for redevelopment in the Tulsa Arts District. Join the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) and guests from the Oklahoma Pop Museum, Nabholz Construction, Lilly Architects, Wallace Engineering, Cantera Concrete, and Crimson Steel as they tackle "Why Didn’t I Think of That? Structures as a Work of Art".

This two-hour panel event will review the development of Tulsa’s Oklahoma Pop Museum, exemplifying how emerging trends in urban redevelopment, sustainable design, cohesive cross-functional team project planning, and careful foresight can uplift a functional building into a transformative work of art.
