AIA CENTRAL OKLAHOMA NEWS

Sponsor Spotlight - Guernsey
We are thankful for the support we receive at AIA Central Oklahoma from our sponsors.  Since we aren't seeing each other right now, we'd like to spotlight one of our chapter package sponsors each week!

2020  Firm Sponsor!

Three facts about Guernsey:

1).  Guernsey is an employee-owned firm comprised of a unique collection of engineers, architects, and consultants.

2).  We are making our vision a reality by achieving extraordinary results through caring, commitment, and collaboration.

3).  Established in 1928, Guernsey continues to adapt to the needs of the clients and communities we serve. Our tag line, "Realize the Difference," is a reflection of our client-centric focus.

A few images to showcase Guernsey!

Guernsey began in the garage of Curtis Harold Guernsey, Sr. by providing civil engineering and consulting services to Oklahoma municipalities. Today, we firmly believe in the importance of investing in our community through client service, collaborative design, and community engagement through our Guernsey Gives Back program.

With the passing of the Electrification Act of 1936, Guernsey was the first to expanded our service offerings to municipal power and electric cooperatives. We continue to adjust to the changing needs of our clients.

In 1981, Guernsey received our first federal contract. Committed to serving federal agencies and all branches of the Department of Defense, we continue to extend our reach and provide services across the globe.

Understanding and Developing Pocket Neighborhoods presented by ULI Oklahoma

This half day course will focus on what it takes to permit, design and develop a pocket neighborhood. You will learn start to finish how it can be done and what methods will help get you started. Today's zoning codes make this type of development illegal with variances or special exceptions. This course will explain what cities can do to make development like this permittable making it applicable for designers, planners, engineers and developers wanting to understand cottage courts/pocket neighborhoods.
4 hours of HSW credit to attendees.
