AIANTA Highlights for the Coming Week
That's a RES Wrap
We are so happy to have been able to connect with everyone in person at RES last week, and we are thrilled to hear so many people are getting excited about tourism again. We look forward to seeing you all at AITC in October!

And congratulations to Danielle Sarracino from Acoma Pueblo Pottery on being selected as the winner of the Grand Canyon Helicopter/Pontoon Experience! Thanks to everyone who entered.

Webinar: Powwows and Cultural Tourism
July 27; 10 a.m. MDT
Powwows are held across the country, honoring songs, dance, art and culture with many adding races, traditional games and more. More than ever, they are drawing tribal visitors as well as visitors from around the globe who are seeking authentic cultural experiences. This webinar will highlight both the famed Crow Fair and the Shoshone-Bannock Powwow, which is held as part of the annual Shoshone-Bannock Indian Festival. Learn the history of these major events and how promoting cultural tourism events can help local communities create new jobs and grow their economies and find out how they accommodate guests.

Congratulations on the Launch of LewisAndClark.travel
We’d like to extend a warm congratulations to our AIANTA partner—the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail—on the launch of their new geotourism website www.LewisAndClark.travel. Our collaborative partnership has driven the inclusion of more than 50 tribal listings on the new site, which officially launched July 19, 2021. If you haven’t already firmed up your holiday travel plans, you can find plenty of inspiration on this site.

Ho'omaika'i iā Mālia!
All of us at AIANTA would like to offer a heartfelt congratulations to Mālia Sanders on her promotion to Executive Director of the Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association (NaHHA). Mālia is a great friend to AIANTA and an amazing resource on Native Hawaiian cultural heritage. Ho'omaika'i iā Mālia!
