AJAS Schedules Meetings with Federal Legislators on Medicaid Re-Design
      At this most critical time in the eldercare profession, AJAS has scheduled two briefings on Capitol Hill in March 2018 to educate lawmakers about restructuring Medicaid effectively.
     On March 7, AJAS will meet with members of the U.S. Senate and with representatives from the U.S. House of Representatives on March 8 in Washington, D. C.


AJAS Travels to Israel in May

     AJAS will host a trip to Israel May 8-17, culminating with an unique opportunity to attend the BIOMED Conference in Tel Aviv. Here is a link to the itinerary and various options for the trip.      
     The trip offers the chance for eldercare professionals to see the latest in technology and innovations from Israeli companies and get to know these companies.
     Our travel consultant put the social part of the trip on the front end of our visit. There will be a price for the entire visit, and a price for those just planning to attend the BIOMED Conference.

Almer Promoted at Gurwin Jewish Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center

     As of January 1, Stuart Almer assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer for Gurwin Jewish Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gurwin Jewish, Fay J. Linder Residences, Gurwin Home Care Agency and Gurwin Jewish Healthcare Foundation.
       Preiviously, Almer served as Administrator/Chief Operating Officer for Gurwin. In a career spanning more than 30 years, he has garnered substantial administrative and managing experience in both acute and long-term care settings.
       Herb Friedman, founding Executive Vice President of Gurwin, will stay on as President and CEO of the newly established Gurwin parent corporation and of Fountaingate Gardens, a proposed independent living community. Friedman also will have input on strategic planning throughout 2018.  

Lubline Takes Reigns at Hooverwood

     Evan Lubline is the new Chief Executive Officer of The Indianapolis Jewish Home, Inc., Hooverwood. Evan began his journey Dec. 18, 2017, at Hooverwood. Previously, he served as the administrator at The Weils, a Montefiore senior living community located in Cleveland, Ohio. 
     Under his leadership, the Weils Home has had record occupancy throughout the continuum of care and a reputation for great quality care. He has been working in the senior care industry for 12 years since graduating from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
     Evan is married to Caitlin, and they have a one-year old daughter Scarlett.  Evan, Caitlin and Scarlett relocated to the Indianapolis area in December.
