AJAS Receives Support for Care Coordination Pilot

Thanks to the leadership of Public Policy Legislative Group Chair Richard Schwalberg, AJAS last month received unanimous support from U.S. congressional representatives to proceed with a pilot project to develop and implement a new Medicaid Care Coordination Model to improve management and quality of services for the elderly and save Medicaid dollars.

Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation plans to establish a new Eldergrow Garden Program designed to provide a horticultural therapy experience to enhance quality of life for patients and residents and bring the benefits of nature indoors during their stay at Parker.


Wilf Campus Breaks Ground on Education/Resource Center 
 
The Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living

The Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living broke ground on its Education and Resource Center on April 20. The new $3.5 million, 12,000-square-foot, two-story building will be built on the campus property on DeMott Lane in Somerset, NJ.

 
   
 

New Fuel Tank to Power Emergency Generator

As part of its ongoing maintenance program, the Samson Nursing Center recently replaced the fuel tank for its emergency generator. A brand new 2000-gallon diesel fuel tank was put in place to assure back-up power in the event of an emergency. Emergency generators provide 100% power to the entire nursing center and Toby Weinman Assisted Living Residence.

Jewish Senior Life of Metropolitan Detroit has a new online look!  The website was dated, not mobile or tablet-friendly and did not engage visitors with the spirit of JSLMI.   

JSLMI obtained a grant to completely revamp the website and, after 6 months of hard work, they have a new 'calling-card to the world.'  Web traffic is up substantially since the new bright, engaging and user-friendly site launched. Please check it out at www.jslmi.org.

 LCS to Manage New Florida Senior Community

LCS and Ocean Land Investments announced last month that the companies have reached an agreement to provide development consulting, marketing and management services for Riverwalk Residences of Las Olas, South Florida's newest, urban high-rise senior living community. LCS Development and Life Care Services, both LCS companies, will provide development consulting and marketing and management services, respectively.
