Register for AJL 2022!

We hope that you are excited about AJL's 2022 conference in Philadelphia, and we wish to remind you that conference support is available to current members of AJL and students who register for the full conference. Full details are available on the Conference Support page.

Judy R. Cohn Conference Support

Named for a long-time AJL member and Southern California Chapter president (2006–2012), the Judy R. Cohn Conference Support Fund assists AJL members with the expense of attending AJL’s annual conferences. Support is based on financial need, weighted toward applicants with involvement in AJL.

EBSCO Scholarship for AJL Conference Attendance

EBSCO Information Services provides funding annually to subsidize conference expenses for first-time attendees and current students or recent (within two years) graduates of programs related to the work of AJL (library and information science, Judaic or Hebrew studies, etc). Scholarship is based on financial need, and current membership is required.

Support for European Members

Dedicated funds are available to support conference attendance by European Judaica librarians. Applicants are expected to participate actively in the conference (e.g., presenting, planning programs), and will be asked to report on their conference activities. Applicants seeking support should indicate their eligibility on the application form. Current membership and full registration are required.

Eligible applicants only need to submit the application form once to be considered for Judy R. Cohn Conference Support, EBSCO funding, and/or support for European members.

Please note the following dates:

 *  Applications must be submitted by Friday, March 25, 2022.

 *  Applicants will be notified about funding by Thursday, April 14, 2022.

 *  Acceptance and conference registration are required by Monday, April 25, 2022.

If you have any questions, please contact Lenore Bell at [email protected] or Gail Shirazi at [email protected].

AJL Student Scholarship/Subvention Award

AJL is pleased to offer an academic scholarship of $1000 to two students enrolled in or accepted into an accredited graduate school of library and information science, in combination with a conference subvention award for attending the AJL annual conference. Free full conference registration, travel, and shared room are included. AJL membership is not required for eligibility. Eligibility guidelines and full application requirements are available on the Student Scholarship Award page.

The Association of Jewish Libraries awards scholarships to promising students with a history of participating in Judaic studies or libraries (or the intention of pursuing a career in Judaic librarianship). This scholarship is merit-based rather than needs-based. AJL welcomes and highly encourages award recipients' involvement in the organization through volunteer and mentorship opportunities. Awardees who attend the conference will also benefit from special programming geared toward first-time attendees and from the opportunity to network with librarians at all career stages and specializations.

All materials must be received by March 25, 2022.
