Dear AJPM Reader,

We are delighted to announce that AJPM has achieved a 2020 Impact Factor of 5.043, the highest in the journal's 36-year history and a significant leap from the 2019 score. Impact Factor is a widely used metric of a journal's reach that measures the rate of citations of recently published journal content. Journals with impact factors over 5 are widely considered high impact journals.

This increase comes as AJPM has seen a record number of submissions—2,082—in 2020, with 2021 on track to match or surpass the 2020 figure. Meanwhile, the average time from submission to peer review completion, an important metric for authors, has decreased significantly, from 6.6 weeks in 2018 to 4.8 weeks in 2020.

Taken together, these are signs that AJPM continues to serve as the premier scholarly journal for the publication of research on prevention science, education, practice, and policy for a global audience. We thank the authors, reviewers, readers, and others whose work has propelled AJPM to the highest levels of excellence.

We hope you find our August 2021 issue to be timely, topical, and informative.

Yours in prevention and health,
