Hello my friends, family and art lovers…

I’m sure I’m not alone in saying, I can’t believe the year is

almost over and we’re in the holiday season again. 2024 has

been a great year in the gallery with visits from Mackenzie

Thorpe from England, Eddy Stevens from Belgium and Anne Bachelier from France! I had studio visits to Michelle Gagliano,

Andy Baird and Woodrow Nash and salons

with Shaka Zulu and Aaron Reichert…

I had the incredible opportunity to go to Italy to attend the

Venice Bienale and see the artists chosen to represent 88

different countries in the 60th edition of international art. The

2024 Biennale's theme was Foreigners Everywhere - and the

exhibition focused on artists who are foreigners, immigrants

and expatriates. The artist chosen to represent the United

States was Indigenous contemporary artist

Jeffrey Gibson and it was stellar!

It was the only time in the American Pavilion’s history that an Indigenous artist has done it solo. Gibson, a member of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and who is also of

Cherokee descent, is known for vibrantly colored paintings

and sculptures that often incorporate text. He has created a

visual language that draws from American, Indigenous, and

queer histories. The prevailing message in this body of work

was from the Declaration of Independence with “we hold these

truths to be self evident…” written on artwork and on the outside

of the pavilion.. Unfortunately these truths are not so evident..

I am extremely grateful to be able to be a part of this amazing

art world and share it with everyone…have a wonderful holiday

season in as simple or as grand a fashion as your heart desires.

Share the love… Angela

Anne Bachelier’s exhibition opened on November 23rd  and we had a fantastic evening. Her Shadow and Light show is outstanding and her collectors loved them! Thank you all for coming out and making it a huge success. Her entire show is linked and the available paintings are still featured in the gallery.

UPCOMING

Incorporating various styles and techniques Nash utilizes stoneware, earthenware, terracotta and porcelain. The sculptures are then fired electronically using a pit firing technique giving the sculptures a "raku" effect; creating an "African Nouveau" trademark that is solely his own. Each sculptural figure is unique and strikes an individual pose of poetic grace and refined detail — each telling their own story.

To explore the recent works of Michelle Gagliano is to explore both the artist’s profound connection to nature and the commitment to her practice.  Born in upstate New York, Gagliano often recalls the farm on which she was raised, and to which she credits her admiration of the natural world. Farm life provided an early understanding and appreciation of the ever-changing qualities of the landscape that have played the leading role in Gagliano’s art throughout her career.
