Dear AL Families,
We know that these are some tenuous times, with many unknowns. That's why the AL community is coming together to provide a bit of extra support for families in need.
GROCERY STAPLE FOR FAMILIES IN NEED
The community would like to offer some grocery staples to help get people through these next couple of weeks. With many kids dependent on breakfast and lunch through the school, we would like to assure that those meals are still available during spring break and beyond, should the need be there.
There will be bags of non-perishable items available for pick up, no questions asked, from 3-6pm on Wednesday, March 18th and Thursday, March 19th at Komatsu Ramen (3951 Broadway in Westport). We will have curbside available if you are among the many wanting to avoid public places. If you are interested in contributing, please reach out to Meghan Flavin: firstname.lastname@example.org .
PTO FUND A NEED
The PTO has initiated a Go Fund Me campaign to support our AL families who may need help. This GoFundMe is in an effort to make sure that no child or family goes hungry while school is not in session, that no family worries about how they will pay for childcare if they have to work while schools are out, that no family wonders if they will be able to pay their bills while they are unable to go to work. In addition we want to make sure that kids have access to internet hotspots and to electronics to help them stay up on schoolwork.
If you are an Académie Lafayette family or know an AL family that is finding themselves in need, you simply need to reach out to one of the 3 campuses to talk to the social worker who will help get these needs met. This process will also ensure the anonymity of anyone who needs help.

Thank you for being a part of the AL family. It's times like these that we need our families the most. And we are here.
