EXPANSION NEWS

Construction is underway! It is exciting that we are already in the construction phase of our five new classrooms on the east side of our existing classrooms. We are grateful for God’s guiding hand through the entire design and permitting process.

TIMELINE:

The ALA Board of Directors approved the classroom expansion project on Dec. 2, 2024.

Maricopa county approved our permit on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Equipment arrived on site and work began Monday morning, May 12, 2025.

The expected completion date is mid to late September. That means the first 7 weeks of the school year will entail classroom sharing. Our teachers will be thrilled when we have occupancy because each faculty member will have their own dedicated teaching and work space. It has been a few years since we had this blessing.

STUDENT INVOLVEMENT

Catalyst Construction has done a fantastic job securing the area for the safety of our students, but we do have plans to involve students in the project.

Our students are joining the construction process by designing prayer rocks that will be buried in the foundation of our new classroom building. Each student will decorate a rock with a Bible verse, Bible image, or a short prayer that represents trust and confidence in our Savior to bless the building process. The building foundation will be built on prayer! Our students will know that they played a vital role in our ministry, both in the present and for the future.

We invite our ALA family to pray for the construction process and for an eternal impact on students when we occupy our new building in the fall.
