Following Techsil's acquisition of Aerospace and Defence industry suppliers, M-tec in May 2017, the two companies have now fully merged and M-tec is trading under the Techsil banner.

Further management changes include M.D. Paul Hughes moving to the position of Group Company Chairman and Chris Dilley stepping into the role of Managing Director.

Panacol have just updated their Adhesives Brochure and it now contains information about all 5 of their adhesive brands:
●   Vitralit® - UV & Light Curing Adhesives
●   Elecolit® - Electrically & Thermally Conductive
●   Structalit® - Maximum Strength Structural Adhesives
●   Penloc® - 2-part High Performance Structural
●   Cyanolit® - Instant Adhesives / Cyanoacrylates

Momentive are updating their labeling and packaging graphics to reflect current regulatory classifications and match their corporate logo and colour schemes.

The product names (such as TSE397) and the formulations will remain the same. Momentive anticipate the changes will be fully implemented within the next 6 months. The main grades affected are prefixed by ADDISIL, IS, RTV, TIA, TIS, TN, TSE, TSK, XE, YG

Techsil have developed a new clear, epoxy adhesive called EP25880 Clear that cures fast and provides a strong, tough and durable bond on carbon fibre composite parts. In tests, two carbon fibre parts were 'butt joined' and a bench weight test of 56lb was applied for 30 minutes and the joint remained intact. Techsil® EP25880 Clear is a 2-component multi-purpose epoxy that is ideal for bonding carbon fibre, wood, ceramics and metals.

Techsil has successfully completed the approval procedure for the Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register (JOSCAR) which enables companies in the Aerospace, Defence, Security & Space sectors to identify qualified suppliers.

Chris Dilley, M.D. comments, "We are pleased that we have satisfied the requirements to become fully compliant on the JOSCAR supplied accreditation register. Becoming a member assures our customers and partners that the service we provide is of the highest quality and complies fully with the industry standards."

DSPR397 Tape
Product Focus: High & Low Temp Tapes

These double-sided tapes can withstand very high and low service temperatures of between -40 and 100°C. And can perform under intermittent temperatures of up to 200°C!

Stokvis DSPR397 and Techsil DSPR965 are extremely durable transparent PET/film tapes with high tack; suitable for high and low energy surfaces - even rough and textured surfaces; resistant to UV light, moisture, chemicals & solvents. Used in the automotive industry for attaching mirrors, trims and cable trunking.
~ DSPR397 has a yellowy brown silicone coated paper liner and
~ DSPR965 has a red silicone coated PP film liner

Techsil can slit cut these tapes for you to any width down to 5mm
In this case study Techsil provided a bespoke Form-in-Place Foam Gasketing service to TRT Lighting to produce an IP rated seal for the lid of an outdoor lighting luminaire. With high order demand, the need to expedite certain elements of the assembly process at TRT were paramount. The new process replaced a manual system of gasket application saving time and allowing vital resources to be used elsewhere.

Time to Switch from Squeeze Bottles to Benchtop Fluid Dispensing?

A new White Paper from Nordson EFD is available on the Techsil website. It outlines all the advantages of using a controlled method of dispensing. The main benefits being:

Less waste: It typically cuts the amount of fluid used by 50-70% due to the improved accuracy of the deposit. This means less waste leading to significant savings.

Increased productivity: A worker who manually assembles 800 parts during an eight-hour shift can assemble 1,000 to 1,200 parts with the assistance of an air-powered fluid dispenser.
