Traditionally mechanical fasteners such as nuts and bolts, screws and rivets were seen as the strongest and most reliable fastening and fixing method. However, double sided structural adhesive tapes can match and often exceed this strength, provide longer lasting reliable bonds and offer unique benefits such as sealing, damping, shielding, heat dissipation and insulating. As technologies of adhesives and backing materials evolve, more engineers are utilizing the unique characteristics of tapes and the market for adhesive tapes is growing year on year. Read our White Paper which outlines 7 reasons to choose tapes over traditional fasteners.

Techsil's Top 10 Thermal Management Materials
Thermal Interface Materials, or TIM for short, are our biggest & fastest growing product category. As electronic devices get smaller we need better and reliable cooling and temperature control. It's all about the heat transfer to the heat sink; thermal ratings, bond line thickness and surface contact all play a part. Our TIM pastes offer an efficient heat path and thermal stress resistance which will extend the product life of your electronic devices. In this post we are highlighting Techsil's Top Ten of our most popular TIM products and their features and benefits.

New Thermally Conductive Electrically Insulating Epoxy Adhesives
Panacol's Elecolit
® 1-part epoxy range are outstanding adhesives offering high heat conduction and metal adhesion. Specially formulated to meet the demands for bonding and dissipating heat from power electronics.
For example Elecolit
® 6603 gives high electrical insulation and is resistant to constant heat stress up to
200° C. It is slightly flexible and and can be used as a potting compound and also has good flow properties making it easy to apply with dispenser, screen printing or needle transfer - no mixing required.
|
New Potting Compound with Excellent Flow Properties
Panacol has launched a new 1-part epoxy potting compound with medium viscosity and small filler particle size: Structalit® 5894-1 is used for large-volume potting or glob top sealing of power electronics.
It cures rapidly when exposed to heat, allowing faster processing of large-volume electronic component potting and sealing. Once cured, the compound provides a smooth and level surface which is at the same time shock- and scratch-resistant.
