We attended the DPRTE Show in Farnborough at the end of March. It was lovely meet with many of our existing Aerospace customers face to face. Some had new applications that they needed our help with and some were surprised at the range of consumable aerospace products we are able to supply - not just silicones! We are busy following up with you all and also new contacts we made at the show. To see what aerospace brands we supply, click on the link.

Advantages of Hot Melt Adhesives vs other types of Adhesives
The Hot Melt adhesives market share is growing with sectors such as Construction, Aerospace and Automotive switching to hot melt from solvent-based adhesives. This is is due to increased regulatory concern across the globe regarding VOCs and the effects on health and the environment. Apart from being completely non-toxic and environmentally friendly there are other excellent reasons to consider using hot melts instead of other types of adhesives.

Last month, Techsil were presented with our certificate Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register (JOSCAR) which enables companies in the Aerospace, Defence, Security & Space sectors to identify qualified suppliers. This accreditation indicates that Techsil Ltd has met the JOSCAR standards pertaining to company capability, accreditations, information security, corporate social responsibility, financial history and ethical operations. The highly valued accreditation mark is recognised by some of the largest purchasers in the defence community such as BAE Systems, Leonardo, NATS, QinetiQ, Lockheed Martin and others.

These products were specially formulated for applications in the electronics and consumer electronics industry, where heat sensitive parts need to be assembled. Vitralit® UD 8050 is a one-component acrylic adhesive with low ion content, which can be used as an encapsulant to protect electronic components on PCBs. Available in different viscosities & clear, blue or fluorescent colours. Other colours available on request.

Addition cure silicones will bond to most substrates when heated above120C; however certain products on the surface of the substrate can inhibit the cure of the silicone or poison it, resulting in a non-cure. There are varying degrees of cure inhibition ranging from complete non-cure to a slimy or sticky finish.
Here we outline several preventative measures that can be taken and a number of substances to avoid.
