Mask Mandates Ending For Most Locations

While many states have already lifted their mask mandates for most indoor and outdoor locations Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii have continued forward with varying levels of requirements.

We are keeping a close eye on this and have every confidence that both Oregon and Washington will soon release the public from the majority of these mandates.

As of now, Washington intends to lift the Mask mandate effective March 21st for most settings including schools and child care facilities. This state will still require masks to be worn in health care environments like hospitals and dental offices. Masks will also be required in long-term care settings and correctional facilities. Please find additional information about Washington here.

As of now, Oregon intends to lift the Mask mandate effective March 19th for most settings including schools and child care facilities. This state will still require masks to be worn in health care environments. Please find additional information about Oregon here.

It will be important to remember that Federal law requires masks in certain places like public transportation and school buses. We will continue to watch the U.S. Department of Transportation for changes in their guidance.

As employers each of you are required to ensure a safe work environment and consider the implication of these changes on your current, temporary policies. Please prepare your changes, if any, and communicate these to employees as soon as possible. These communications should also emphasize the importance of respecting the opinions of each member of your organization and confirming the expectation of maintaining a respectful workplace even in the face of disagreement.
