Dear Downtown Boston BID Members:

As part of its Orange Line Transformation Program, the MBTA will be suspending service for 30 days along the entire Orange Line, starting at 9 pm on Friday, August 19th. The Orange Line will reopen at 5 am on Monday, September 19th.

The MBTA has created a dedicated subpage covering all aspects of the suspension, including (topics listed as they appear from top-to-bottom on the subpage):

  • Project Features & Rider Benefits;

  • Commuter Rail service alternatives (including expanded Providence Line service at Forest Hills & Haverhill Line service at Oak Grove);

  • Shuttle Bus service alternatives (free shuttle buses will service all Orange Line stops with the exception of the Mass. Ave stop and those within the Downtown core);

  • and Green Line service alternatives.

The Downtown Boston BID will monitor the pending Orange Line suspension closely and will follow-up with any updates as/if warranted.
Sincerely,
Tucker Husband
