From the President

Changes at the National Level - Part 3
This is the third and final article regarding the changes being made at the national level of Assistance League.
National Policies for Chapters and Redbook have been retired. The following documents will be available next month:
Memorandum of Affiliation
- Licensing agreement, chapter obligations like dues, graphic standards, Operation School Bell
Leaders Checklist
- Quick reference guide to areas where leaders can make sure they have all the documents they need
Tool-kit
- Quick links to what chapters may need to find in specific areas
National Conferences are in the past. Regional Networking sessions will be held that will be more localized and more timely. Long Beach is hosting a pilot networking session in February 2023 for 40 Southern California chapters.
...
Finally, National Assistance League has developed a new purpose statement and is encouraging each chapter to do the same.
National Assistance League’s purpose statement:
- The specific charitable purpose of this corporation is to promote, empower committed member volunteerism in local communities while building relationships that expand brand awareness of National Assistance League and its Chapters. National Assistance League supports Chapters with education, coaching, resources, advocacy, and networking.
National Assistance League Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Statement:
- National Assistance League strives to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture that ensures every person belongs, is respected, and valued as themselves.
In January, Assistance League of the Foothill Communities Board will begin to review our policies and bylaws to better align with our current practices.
