ALIGN’s 16th Annual Conference Strengthening Today; Building Tomorrow, Jan 25 -26, 2024, in Edmonton has become a key event in our calendar, both literally and figuratively. Figuratively, in that it is a part of our identity as an Association. This is particularly so given the theme of our Conference, “Strengthening Today, Building Tomorrow.” What this means is that we are present and future-focused and that we possess both strengths, and a vision for the future, just like our kids and families. We have another exceptional lineup of presenters who will stimulate our learning and our ability to help children and families.

Caregiver Appreciation Month Provincial Flag Raising 2023

In October, we held our Provincial Flag Raising event at the Federal Building in Edmonton in honour of Foster and Kinship Caregiver Month in Alberta.

While appreciation month is dedicated as an October recognition event, foster and kinship caregivers deserve acknowledgement, gratitude, and appreciation all year long, as what they do is an everyday commitment and their dedication to the wellbeing of children and youth in care is deeply valued.

On behalf of the Alberta Foster and Kinship Association, ALIGN Association of Community Services, and the Ministry of Children and Family Services, we thank you so much for all you do to support the children and youth in your care.
