We've reached the FINAL VAULT RELEASE.

I deliberately saved this one for last.

We've covered nutrition, meal prep, recipes, mindset, goal setting and more...

But this final tool has almost nothing to do with calories or workouts. And it may be the most important one I've shared.

The 180° Fitness System of Gratitude

Developing an attitude of gratitude is something I've practiced for roughly 25 years.

But I definitely wasn't always this way.

There was a time when I thought the world owed me something.

My entrepreneurial career started at 19 while I was completing my undergraduate degree.

For four years, I ran a successful business, recruited hundreds of people and helped a company sell literally millions of dollars worth of cutlery.

Then came burnout, a health scare and a decision to walk away.

I finished my first degree and went back to university with plans to pursue medicine.

Suddenly, instead of running a business...

I was polishing cutlery at Pier 21 in Halifax.

The irony wasn't lost on me. 😂

I went from helping sell millions of dollars worth of cutlery...to polishing it.

Then I landed another job painting oil rigs for $12/hour — which, hilariously, remains the highest hourly wage anyone has ever hired me for in a technical job.

But at the time, I wasn't laughing.

I was angry.

I had a degree. I'd built a successful business. I'd accomplished things.

And somewhere along the way, I started believing that meant I deserved opportunities I hadn't actually earned.

I focused on everything I didn't have instead of appreciating everything I did.

Then, while preparing for medicine, I spent about three months in Botswana, Africa volunteering at an orphanage.

That experience changed my perspective.

The life I'd been complaining about suddenly didn't look so bad.

Even polishing cutlery looked pretty damn good.

It taught me a lesson I've carried ever since:

There is a massive difference between
Reactive Gratitude and Proactive Gratitude.

Reactive Gratitude:

Something good happens → I'm grateful.

Proactive Gratitude:

I actively look for what is already good → before I need something good to happen. That changed the way I looked at opportunities, setbacks, relationships and eventually my entire life

YOUR FINAL VAULT TOOL

Years later, a business coach introduced me to a structured gratitude exercise that I adapted into:

The 180° Fitness System of Gratitude

It's simple and takes only a few minutes.

PART 1 — GRATITUDE

Write something under five categories:

GRATITUDE — One big thing you're grateful for.

OPPORTUNITY — An opportunity you're grateful to have.

DID — Something you had the opportunity to do today or yesterday.

DO — Something you're about to do that you're grateful you get to do.

APPRECIATE — The people in your life you appreciate.

PART 2 — ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Finish by writing down 5 things you accomplished that day.

Big or small.

We're usually very good at remembering the 10 things we didn't finish...

And terrible at acknowledging the five things we DID.

That's it.

Simple enough to dismiss.

Powerful enough that I still use it.

Print this one.

Leave it beside your bed or on your desk.

And actually use it.

Because one of the philosophies I've tried to build my life around is:

"I will do as much as I can, for as long as I can, for as many people as I can, without the expectation of anything in return."

Our expectations—and our inability to appreciate what's already around us—can wreak havoc on our happiness.

I hope this system has even a fraction of the impact on your life that practicing gratitude has had on mine.

Finally...

THANK YOU.

Thank you for all the messages, texts, emails and well wishes surrounding our 19-Year Anniversary.

What was supposed to be a 3-month adventure somehow turned into nearly two decades.

Thousands of clients. Thousands of workouts. Thousands of stories, transformations, friendships and memories.

I'm incredibly grateful for all of it.

And especially grateful for everyone who has been part of the journey.

Here's to Year 20. ❤️

Your friend & coach,

Adrian
